Junior Earthworks Estimator

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for earthworks and site development projects
• Review project plans, specifications, geotechnical reports, and bid documents
• Collaborate with estimators, engineers, project managers, and business development managers
• Support subcontractor and supplier outreach for pricing and scope clarification
• Help develop estimating standard operating procedures and templates
• Participate in site visits, pre-bid walkthroughs, and customer interactions
• Maintain organized documentation of estimates, takeoffs, and bid packages
• Monitor project costs during construction to identify variances
• Assist with bid leveling and scope comparisons

Requirements

• 1+ years of experience in construction, civil engineering, estimating, or heavy civil projects
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Interest in heavy civil construction and field operations
• Ability to travel to job sites across Texas
• Willingness to relocate to Austin, TX if not within commuting distance

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field
• Familiarity with estimating software such as Trimble, B2W, AGTEK, or Bluebeam
