Junior Data Engineer

Responsibilities

• Help run daily ETL/ELT pipelines using SQL and cloud tools
• Troubleshoot data pipeline issues including job errors and missing data
• Ensure correct data processing for scheduled and ad-hoc jobs
• Handle regular data imports, validations, and quality checks
• Maintain data documentation and supporting governance processes
• Support maintaining SQL and Scala scripts, queries, and simple ETL tasks
• Work with reporting and analytics teams to ensure data accuracy
• Resolve validation queries and perform data investigations

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field
• Practical knowledge of SQL, Scala, and PySpark
• Familiarity with GitHub and Bitbucket
• Exposure to BI/analytics tools such as Tableau or Power BI
• Experience with data analysis or data pipelines from coursework, internships, or projects
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English

Preferred Qualifications

• Willingness to learn cloud-based data tools like AWS and Glue
• Experience working in agile environments or on group projects
