Junior Cost Estimator

Responsibilities

• Apply basic cost estimating principles and practices to support project and program requirements
• Prepare and develop multi-disciplined, well-documented cost estimates based on defined project needs
• Support the integration of engineering, maintenance, operations, environmental, and construction activities
• Assist in developing clear Basis of Estimate (BOE) statements and supporting documentation
• Participate in estimating team meetings to identify and define project deliverables
• Identify and analyze schedule considerations, resource conflicts, and cost impacts related to assigned scope
• Assist in the preparation and review of procedures and support cost savings initiatives

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree
• Experience performing construction quantity takeoffs from engineering drawings, sketches, and related documents
• US citizenship is required due to government contract and clearance requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• Estimating experience within the DOE complex
• Prior experience with Department of Energy Capital Asset Projects (DOE O 413.3B)
