Junior Controls Engineer

Responsibilities

• Support the design and implementation of automation projects, including specifications for control panels, networks, and software
• Translate process or packaging applications into construction packages such as schematics, wiring diagrams, and cable schedules
• Collaborate with senior engineers to ensure successful project execution and timely delivery
• Assist with system design, troubleshooting, testing, and commissioning
• Participate in site surveys and provide hands-on support during installation
• Maintain compliance with relevant codes such as UL508A and NEC
• Travel to project sites for initial visits and commissioning (anticipated 20–40% travel)

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering Technology
• 0–2 years of experience in control systems, manufacturing, or automation
• Foundational understanding of automation concepts, instrumentation, and control system components
• Willingness to perform field surveys and assist with as-built documentation

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with control panel design, network basics, and control system programming
• Experience or coursework using AutoCAD
• Exposure to electrical engineering construction packages
• Interest in learning Rockwell Automation software (Studio 5000, RSLogix 5000, FactoryTalk View)
