Junior Buyer

Responsibilities

• Source and purchase assigned materials according to MRP requirements
• Manage vendor relations through meetings, weekly calls, and quarterly reviews
• Monitor and track inventoried items to ensure supply continuity
• Generate cost savings opportunities while adhering to quality specifications
• Maintain accurate pricing, lead times, pack sizes, and technical documentation
• Interface with internal departments (QC, QA, PD) to resolve quality issues and obtain replacement materials
• Stay informed on industry trends, cost drivers, and global pricing

Requirements

• 3 to 5 years of purchasing experience
• Experience in the nutraceutical, pharmaceutical, or food industries is preferred
• Bachelor's Degree preferred (Associate's degree or relevant certification considered in lieu of degree)
• Proficient understanding of MRP ordering concepts
• Working knowledge of forecasting and logistics principles (FTL, LTL, and small package courier services)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
