Junior Accountant

Responsibilities

• Perform daily bookkeeping, including posting invoices, expenses, journals, and accruals
• Maintain project cost ledgers, cost coding, and budget-vs-actual tracking
• Record project revenue, IPCs, variations, and client invoicing
• Process and reconcile subcontractor and supplier accounts, including advances and retentions
• Support accounts payable and receivable processes and follow up on outstanding balances
• Perform bank, supplier, and customer reconciliations and flag discrepancies
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities and financial report preparation
• Support internal and external audits by preparing required schedules and documentation

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 3+ years of accounting experience specifically within the construction or contracting sector
• Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Office tools
• Working knowledge of UAE VAT and local regulatory requirements
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a live-project environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Relevant accounting-related certification
