Junior Accountant

Responsibilities

• Prepare and file corporate (T2) and personal (T1) tax returns
• Assist with GST/HST filings, payroll taxes, and other routine submissions
• Support basic tax planning to help reduce tax liabilities
• Review financial data to ensure accurate tax calculations and maintain bookkeeping records
• Stay updated with Canadian tax rules and CRA regulations
• Use accounting software including QuickBooks, Xero, and CaseWare to manage tasks
• Handle basic tax notices and communicate with authorities when necessary

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Minimum 1-2 years of experience in Canadian taxation and accounting
• Strong knowledge of Canadian tax laws, CRA regulations, and compliance
• Hands-on experience with T1, T2, GST/HST, and payroll tax filings
• Proficiency in QuickBooks, Xero, CaseWare, or TaxCycle
• Excellent analytical skills and strong attention to detail
• Fluency in English (both written and verbal)
