Junior Accountant

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries for accruals, prepaid expenses, payroll, fixed assets, and intercompany transactions
• Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis
• Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
• Record payroll journal entries and reconcile payroll accounts
• Review employee expense reports for compliance with company policy
• Prepare audit schedules and assist with external auditor requests
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiency

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 1–4 years of accounting experience
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite or QuickBooks
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA or progress toward CPA certification
• Experience in a startup or high-growth technology company
• Familiarity with payroll accounting and stock compensation
• Experience supporting annual audits
