JRSS Network Technician

Responsibilities

• Execute network operations including analysis of customer traffic across MPLS and JRSS infrastructure
• Perform real-time customer failover to restore services during outages and maintenance
• Proactively monitor network alarms using platform-specific management tools
• Perform change management tasks including hardware replacement and software configurations
• Utilize incident management applications to document outages, isolations, and resolutions
• Identify resolutions for network incidents involving routers, switches, routing protocols, MPLS, VPN, and firewalls

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship
• Active, in-scope US Government Secret clearance
• Current DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification (Security+ CE or equivalent)
• 2-4 years of recent and relevant technical experience
• Experience with alarm surveillance, fault management, LAN maintenance, or performance management
• Expertise in routers, switches, routing protocols, Cisco, Juniper, or MPLS
• Ability to work in a 24/7 shift work environment (nights and weekends)
• High School diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

• Tech control facility or cyber transport experience
• Circuit actions and vendor experience
• IP architecture experience
• Telco NOC, inside or outside plant experience
• Experience with MS Office suite
• Additional certifications such as CCNA, JNCIA-Junos, F5 Networks Certified Technical Specialist, or ITILv4
