Jr. Firmware Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop embedded software for vehicle modules and power up strategies using embedded C
• Perform unit testing using CMock framework
• Contribute to body-controls power systems, closures, alert and diagnostic logging
• Develop prototypes for algorithms for dynamic calibration of system settings based on noise feedback
• Analyze CAN traffic using tools such as vector CAN dongles
• Build libraries and drivers for on board chips
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Sensor Integration, Closures Engineering and Firmware Validation

Requirements

• BS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
• 3+ years relevant experience developing and troubleshooting firmware
• Expertise with C and/or C++ firmware in bare metal applications
• Familiarity with Microchip dsPIC/PIC 16-bit microcontrollers
• Hands on experience troubleshooting electronics in a microcontroller driven system
• Ability to read electrical schematics
• Familiarity with Linux command line and scripting
• Experience with PID motor control and tuning
• Experience with GITHUB or similar source code repository systems
