Jr. Chemist

Responsibilities

• Conduct basic research into chemistry relevant to sealants and adhesives
• Execute feasibility studies and bench-scale project designs to generate data
• Test products according to industry standards and Sika procedures to ensure quality
• Perform initial material testing and assist in gaining customer approvals
• Maintain accurate laboratory and QC notebooks and detailed technical reports
• Provide technical support to production plants, sales, marketing, and customers
• Participate in implementing new products and technologies into factories
• Maintain assigned laboratory equipment in good operating condition
• Travel approximately 10% of the time to visit customer sites

Requirements

• BS degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, or Chemical Engineering
• 0-2 years of hands-on industrial laboratory experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Strong technical and business writing skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with sealants and adhesives
• Experience with Design of Experiments (DOE)
