Journeyperson Sheet Metal Worker

Responsibilities

• Read engineering and architectural drawings, sketches, and work specifications
• Develop patterns for sheet metal using CAD software
• Operate metalworking machines including shears, brakes, punches, drill presses, and CNC equipment
• Operate computerized laser or plasma cutting equipment
• Install and use rigging and hoisting equipment
• Fit and join sheet metal parts using riveting, welding, and soldering
• Install sheet metal products according to specifications and building codes
• Inspect product quality and installation for conformance

Requirements

• Journeyperson certification
• Ability to read mechanical/electrical drawings and HVAC/R schematics
• Valid class 5 Driver’s license
• Ability to attain and hold a Security clearance
• Ability to work in confined spaces and at various heights on ladders or scaffolds
• Willingness to join Local Union 296
