Journeyman Power System Electrician (PSE)

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain electrical equipment in generator stations, substations, and powerhouses
• Read and interpret drawings, circuit diagrams, and manufacturer specifications
• Install and maintain power distribution equipment including transformers, generators, and circuit breakers
• Inspect and test electrical equipment using volt meters, ammeters, and other test instruments
• Troubleshoot and isolate faults in electrical and electronic systems
• Scope and order materials for projects and daily work requirements
• Complete maintenance reports and QA/QC documentation
• Travel to remote locations and work at heights in various weather conditions

Requirements

• Journeyman Electrician certification
• Industry related safety certification
• Experience in industrial electrical construction and maintenance
• Knowledge of Canadian electrical code and Alberta Utility Code
• Ability to work at heights and perform physical tasks like standing, crouching, or kneeling for long periods
• Willingness to travel to remote locations and perform shift work
