About the role
Responsibilities
- Maintain, repair, and overhaul plant production equipment, including pump systems, conveyors, motors, elevators, and augers
- Identify and correct mechanical problems in machines and processes to facilitate production
- Provide rapid response to trouble calls from shift supervisors, operators, and technicians
- Perform weekly preventive maintenance walkthroughs, inspections, and repairs
- Assist Operating Engineers with the maintenance of plant utilities
- Maintain accurate records of shift logs, maintenance inspections, and meter readings
- Support project teams in the design, installation, and commissioning of new equipment
- Participate in process improvement teams and collaborate on corrective actions for reliability issues
Requirements
- Red Seal Millwright license (Fully Licensed)
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
- Proficiency in English (verbal and written)
- Experience with rigging systems, gearbox and bearing maintenance, lubrication, pumps, piping, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems
- Ability to work in physically demanding conditions, including confined spaces, extreme temperatures, and heights
- Ability to work overtime, holidays, nights, and weekends
Preferred Qualifications
- Class 4 Power Engineering Certificate
- At least 2 years of experience in a production-related environment
- Experience with machinist, welding, pipe fitting, and fabrication trades
- Forklift and heavy equipment operation experience
- Basic computer skills and experience with MRO or MRP systems
