Journeyman Electrician

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs on lighting, power distribution, and control systems
• Diagnose and resolve electrical problems involving wiring, circuits, and fuses
• Ensure all work complies with local and national electrical codes
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
• Adhere to strict safety protocols including PPE and lockout/tagout procedures
• Coordinate with team members, contractors, and project managers
• Maintain accurate documentation of work orders and inspections

Requirements

• Valid journeyman electrician license in Wisconsin or willingness to obtain
• Completion of a recognized electrical apprenticeship or union training program
• Alternative: 12,000 hours in the electrical field or 8,000 hours plus 500-1,000 classroom hours
• Strong knowledge of local and national electrical codes
• Proficiency with electrical hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Ability to lift over 50 pounds and work at heights or in confined spaces
