About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on electrical systems, including transformers, inverters, wiring, and control panels.
- Diagnose electrical issues in manufacturing equipment and machinery using appropriate testing equipment.
- Repair or replace faulty electrical components such as circuit breakers, switches, motors, and sensors.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including Lock out Tag Out (LOTO) principles, and conduct regular safety inspections.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, work orders, and inspection reports.
- Collaborate with engineers and production staff to identify opportunities for process improvement and equipment reliability.
- Respond promptly to electrical emergencies and breakdowns to minimize production downtime.
Requirements
- Licensed journeyman electrician.
- 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment involving electrical troubleshooting and maintenance.
- Proven ability to maintain electrical distribution equipment, motors, encoders, and proximity switches.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
- Working knowledge of Lock out Tag Out (LOTO) principles and electrical trade tools.
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts on a 2-3-2 rotating schedule, alternating between day and night shifts.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience troubleshooting electrical problems in automated machines and advanced machining equipment.
- Experience working in a large toolroom environment.
