Journey Worker - Welder

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG and stick welds in flat and horizontal positions, progressing to vertical, overhead, TIG, and stainless steel welding
• Assist with setup and operation of welding machines, fixtures, and fabrication tools
• Support layout, fit-up, and tack welding using shop drawings and weld symbols
• Prep and align pipe, tube, and structural materials
• Conduct visual weld inspections and identify common defects
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment per OSHA, 5S, and company safety standards
• Collaborate with fabricators, machinists, engineers, and project teams on custom machinery and industrial equipment

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of a recognized welding program or apprenticeship
• Basic knowledge of welding tools, procedures, and safety practices
• Proven skill in welding flat and horizontal positions
• Ability to comprehend basic shop schematics and weld symbols
• Eagerness to learn advanced welding and fabrication techniques
