Responsibilities

• Perform research, collection, verification, and autonomous processing of information
• Prepare audiovisual elements and write broadcast-style scripts for reports and news bulletins
• Conduct reports and organize/lead interviews
• Coordinate filming and editing of reports
• Develop and maintain a network of sources and contacts for fact validation and original news
• Propose news report subjects
• Deliver live reports on-air for the TVA/LCN network
• Verify the quality of audio and video equipment and report any technical issues

Requirements

• University degree in an appropriate discipline or extensive journalism experience
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a journalist
• Experience in filming and editing
• Valid driver's license
• Strong knowledge of regional and national news
• Ability to perform well in front of the camera
• Perfect mastery of spoken and written French
• Advanced level of English (spoken and written) for regular translation tasks
