Job Administration/Production Control Technician

Responsibilities

• Monitor job flows controlled by the CA Workload Automation DE (dSeries) scheduling system
• Respond to job failures on z/OS mainframe, UNIX, or PeopleSoft servers
• Determine general causes of problems and contact appropriate on-call staff for remediation
• Migrate software to production and test environments
• Document problems and set up job flow dependencies
• Execute and troubleshoot test flows

Requirements

• 3-5 years of related scheduling experience with a Windows-based scheduling system
• 5 years of experience escalating and documenting critical job failures and schedule problems
• 5 years of experience with hands-on execution and troubleshooting of schedulers, batch processes, and cycle flows
• Baccalaureate degree in computer science, engineering, or related field with 4 years of IT service management experience, OR 8 years of experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with z/OS JCL, TSO/ISPF, and mainframe compile, link, and bind procedures
• Knowledge of CA Workload Automation DE or similar enterprise scheduling packages
• Familiarity with File-AID, IDCAMS, GDGs, and UNIX
• Experience with file transfer protocols such as FTPS or Connect:Direct
• Knowledge of PeopleSoft People Tools (Process Monitor)
• Familiarity with Rational Tools (ClearQuest and ClearCase)
• Proficiency with PUTTY, WinSCP, MS-Word, and Excel
