Java Developer & Team Lead

Responsibilities

• Analyze, design, develop, test, and debug complex software enhancements for Alpha/Charles River Development modules
• Lead a team of engineers from both technical and managerial perspectives, including mentoring junior engineers
• Collaborate with Business Analysts and Product Managers to create sustainable software solutions for complex problems
• Direct problem-solving efforts for major project phases to resolve technical issues
• Provide guidance and critical analysis during code reviews and troubleshoot mission-critical client implementations
• Engage in the agile scrum process, including daily standups, sprint planning, and backlog grooming
• Plan and coordinate cross-team activities to ensure successful assignment completion

Requirements

• B.S. degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
• At least 7 years of experience in the full lifecycle of Java application development
• 2+ years of experience leading a team (ideally managing 6-10 people)
• Strong proficiency in Core Java, server-side Java technologies, and Spring frameworks
• Hands-on experience with SQL databases
• Experience with backend technologies including Kafka and Microservices
• Proficiency working within Agile methodologies

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or Kubernetes
• Knowledge of Snowflake and Relational databases (RDBMS)
• Experience with frontend technologies like React
• Background in financial services, specifically developing solutions for Wealth Management
