Java Backend Developer

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot
• Build and optimize RESTful APIs to support platform integrations and data services
• Develop and manage data pipelines and ETL workflows to process large-scale biological and clinical datasets
• Work with MySQL, Elasticsearch, and data warehouse systems for efficient data storage and retrieval
• Implement cloud-native applications on AWS, ensuring high availability and scalability
• Containerize applications using Docker and orchestrate deployments using Kubernetes
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, integration, and deployment
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including bioinformatics scientists, data engineers, and product teams
• Ensure code quality, performance optimization, and system reliability across services

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in backend development
• Strong programming experience in Java and Spring Boot
• Experience working with MySQL or other relational databases
• Hands-on experience with Elasticsearch for search and analytics
• Experience designing ETL pipelines and data warehouse solutions
• Strong exposure to AWS cloud services and cloud-native architectures
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for containerized deployments
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment
