About the role
Responsibilities
- Prepare authentic Japanese dishes including sushi, sashimi, nigiri, maki rolls, tempura, ramen, donburi, yakitori, and teppanyaki
- Ensure consistency in food quality, taste, presentation, and portion control
- Monitor freshness and quality of ingredients
- Develop new menu items and seasonal specials
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workstation
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and HACCP standards
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate ingredient requirements
- Minimize food waste and control food costs
- Ensure proper storage and handling of all ingredients
Requirements
- Extensive experience in preparing authentic Japanese cuisine
- Expertise in sushi, sashimi, and various Japanese cooking techniques
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations
- Ability to maintain high food quality standards
