Janitorial and Maintenance Helper

Responsibilities

• Perform minor repairs in common areas and resident units as instructed by the Maintenance Supervisor
• Maintain electrical and mechanical equipment, including changing air filters and light bulbs
• Clean and maintain hallways, emergency stairways, offices, washrooms, staff rooms, lobbies, and patios
• Assist with cleaning and maintenance tasks required for vacant units
• Manage waste removal, including garbage, recycling, and organic bins
• Report health and safety concerns and repair issues regarding furniture or fixtures
• Assist in ensuring building security by checking doors and windows
• Maintain external property, including balcony areas and keeping sidewalks clear of snow and ice
• Restock washroom supplies and hand hygiene units

Requirements

• At least 3 months of related work experience
• First Aid/CPR Certification
• Universal Precautions training
• WHMIS 2015 Certification
• Non-Violence Crisis Intervention Certification
• Criminal Record Review Act clearance to work with vulnerable adults
