About the role
Responsibilities
- Ensure general upkeep of the facility, including cleaning floors, washrooms, windows, and dusting
- Collect and dispose of garbage and perform vacuuming
- Clean, move, and arrange furniture as required
- Maintain external property by mowing lawns, raking, and gardening
- Keep sidewalks clear of snow and ice
- Check doors and windows to ensure building security
- Restock washroom supplies and report safety concerns or repair issues
- Perform specialized cleaning tasks such as stripping/waxing floors and shampooing carpets
Requirements
- Completion of Public School (alternative education/experience may be acceptable)
- Up to three months of prior cleaning experience
- Familiarity with cleaning supplies and procedures
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, and shoveling snow
- Ability to handle hazardous chemicals and industrial cleaning equipment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in environments requiring universal precautions
- Ability to maintain professionalism when dealing with diverse populations and challenging situations
