Janitor

Responsibilities

• Perform light cleaning duties including vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, and dusting offices and furnishings
• Maintain facility cleanliness by emptying garbage and recycling receptacles and cleaning washrooms
• Ensure kitchen cleanliness by polishing sinks, countertops, and fixtures
• Perform minor repairs such as changing light bulbs, unblocking toilets, and tightening furniture screws
• Maintain external property by clearing snow and ice from sidewalks and performing basic lawn care
• Monitor and maintain cleaning supplies using WHMIS compliant labeling
• Ensure building security by checking doors and windows
• Adhere to all health and safety standards to maintain a safe environment for staff and guests

Requirements

• Completion of Secondary School
• Up to 1 year of related experience in custodial or maintenance roles
• Knowledge of Health & Safety Standards and OH&S regulations
• Ability to lift and move up to 49 pounds
• Ability to perform physical tasks including reaching, bending, twisting, and occasional ladder work
