About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop and architect applications using Java, J2EE, and Unix/Linux technologies
- Define new architectures for highly available and scalable web applications
- Define technology solutions for the Retail domain to solve business and IT problems
- Develop server-side architecture and web applications
- Implement Service Oriented Architecture using Spring, CXF, REST/SOAP, and messaging frameworks
- Develop distributed systems using Kafka, Storm, and Grafana
- Provide advanced technology advisory services and monitor market trends
Requirements
- At least 11 years of experience in Java, J2EE, and Unix/Linux
- At least 7 years of experience in architectural design for scalable web applications
- At least 5 years of experience in the Retail domain
- Strong OO design skills and understanding of enterprise software design patterns
- Experience with distributed systems (Kafka, Storm, Grafana) and caching (Infinispan)
- Working knowledge of MySQL
- Proficiency with Eclipse, Maven, Git, and Test Driven Development
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Pentaho platform
- Familiarity with automation tools like Chef and Jenkins
- Experience with cloud deployments
- Experience in an Agile software development environment
