About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of technology projects, including chartering, planning, execution, and post-implementation review.
  • Define project scope, requirements, success metrics, and acceptance criteria in collaboration with sponsors and business owners.
  • Develop and maintain integrated project plans, managing milestones, dependencies, and critical path activities.
  • Establish strong relationships with executive sponsors, technical staff, and external partners to ensure alignment.
  • Manage project risks, issues, decisions, and action (RIDA) tracking, developing effective mitigation plans.
  • Coordinate vendor activities, deliverables, and timelines to ensure alignment with project scope and schedule.
  • Partner with organizational change management teams to support user adoption, training, and readiness.
  • Utilize ITS-approved tools to maintain accurate status reporting, financial tracking, and documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, business administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5-7 years of progressive experience managing technology projects and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Working knowledge of project management methodologies such as PMI, Agile, or hybrid approaches.
  • Proven ability to develop realistic project plans, manage dependencies, and deliver results on schedule.
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills with the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience coordinating vendor deliverables and working with third-party partners.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP certification or equivalent professional credential.
  • Experience working in higher education or a similarly complex, mission-driven organization.
  • Experience supporting organizational change management, communications, and training coordination.
  • Familiarity with ITIL/ITSM service management practices and project management platforms.
