ITAR/EAR Compliance Specialist

Responsibilities

• Prepare, submit, and manage export license applications, TAAs, and MLAs with DDTC and BIS
• Maintain a comprehensive license tracking system and ensure timely renewals
• Conduct commodity jurisdiction (CJ) and ECCN determinations for hardware, software, and data
• Develop and implement the Export Compliance Program (ECP), including policies and internal controls
• Conduct periodic compliance risk assessments and internal audits
• Manage and maintain Technology Control Plans (TCPs)
• Prepare and submit voluntary self-disclosures (VSDs)
• Design and deliver ITAR/EAR awareness training programs
• Screen customers, suppliers, and partners against restricted-party lists
• Support business development and M&A with export control due diligence
• Serve as the primary point of contact for DDTC and BIS

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with ITAR and EAR compliance in aerospace or defense
• Experience managing DDTC and BIS license applications, TAAs, and MLAs
• Strong knowledge of USML and CCL
• Experience with ECCN classifications and CJ determinations
• Must be a U.S. Person (Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident)
• Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, Law, Business, Engineering, or related field

Preferred Qualifications

• J.D. or advanced degree
• Certified U.S. Export Compliance Officer (CUSECO)
• Active or clearable U.S. Secret security clearance
• Experience in the eVTOL, UAV/UAS, or advanced air mobility sector
• Familiarity with NISP and DFARS cybersecurity requirements
• Experience with export management systems like Visual Compliance
