IT Systems & Security Engineer

Responsibilities

• Administer, monitor, and optimize essential IT systems, identity, and cloud environments including GCP and Google Workspace.
• Design, implement, and maintain advanced security tools such as Firewalls, EDR, SIEM, ZTNA, and MFA.
• Lead system hardening, gap assessments, and policy enforcement to strengthen security posture.
• Champion "security-as-code" by leveraging APIs and scripting to automate security orchestration and response workflows.
• Serve as the expert for network design, installation, and physical security including cameras and door access.
• Manage the Ubiquiti UniFi platform and perform physical network cabling tasks.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in IT administration.
• 1+ year of experience focused on cybersecurity operations or engineering.
• Expert proficiency in Google Workspace, GCP, and identity management solutions.
• Hands-on experience configuring and managing ZTNA, EDR, and SIEM platforms.
• Strong scripting skills in Python or PowerShell for API integration and workflow automation.
• Comprehensive experience with the Ubiquiti UniFi platform and the ability to perform physical network cabling.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR) platforms.
• Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, or SOC 2.
• A passion for staying up-to-date with the latest cybersecurity trends and emerging threats.
