Merge Labs is a frontier research lab with the mission of bridging biological and artificial intelligence to maximize human ability, agency and experience. We’re pursuing this goal by developing fundamentally new approaches to brain-computer interfaces.
Responsibilities
- Act as admin of record to critical systems, building scalable and auditable processes
- Own end-to-end IT onboarding and offboarding processes
- Operate and improve the Okta, Active Directory, TrueNAS, and Proxmox stack
- Provide support across Mac, Windows, and Linux environments
- Manage configuration management tooling including Jamf (Iru) and Ansible
- Manage SaaS contracts, licenses, renewals, and vendor relationships
- Maintain office infrastructure including Wi-Fi, networking, and IoT segmentation
- Partner with lab and platform teams on hardware integration and data collection unblocking
- Establish baseline security hygiene including MFA and access reviews
Requirements
- Demonstrated success in IT operations or systems administration, ideally in a scaling startup
- Hands-on Active Directory administration experience (Group Policy, permissions)
- Strong Mac and Windows support fundamentals including imaging and MDM
- Admin-level knowledge of Okta or comparable IdP (SSO, SCIM, conditional access)
- Networking competence including Wi-Fi, VLANs, and firewall troubleshooting
- Understanding of security best practices
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with ambiguity
- Bias toward automation and documentation
