IT Support Engineer

Responsibilities

• Perform daily system monitoring across servers, hardware, applications, and key processes, including uptime checks and verification of scheduled jobs.
• Execute daily backup operations, ensuring file systems and data are backed up correctly and recovery media is managed.
• Provide level 1 support across teams, investigating and troubleshooting technical issues as they arise.
• Monitor performance and capacity across IT systems, applications, and data centre components.
• Support core banking end-of-day activities and generate related reports.
• Respond to IT, data centre, and database alerts and hardware malfunctions.
• Track, document, and report incidents accurately.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Computer Engineering.
• 0 to 2 years of experience in a similar IT support or data centre operations role.
• Working knowledge of servers (rack/blade), storage (SAN/NAS, backup and archive), and operating systems including Windows, Linux, and AIX.
• Fluent in Arabic with a good command of English.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including shift coverage where required.
• Based in the UAE or willing to relocate to Abu Dhabi.

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to virtualization technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V, or OpenShift.
• Previous experience within banking, finance, or working with core banking systems.
