IT Specialist

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance, training, and support to staff, faculty, and students regarding computer software and hardware.
• Install, upgrade, maintain, and repair computer hardware, software, servers, peripherals, and audio-visual equipment.
• Manage and resolve technical issues through the IT support ticketing system.
• Perform preventative maintenance inspections and replace defective or malfunctioning hardware components.
• Troubleshoot network and computer problems, determining sources of issues and implementing effective solutions.
• Physically transport, assemble, and disassemble computers and network components as needed.
• Document and report on the status of technology services and any emerging issues to leadership.

Requirements

• High School diploma required.
• 1-2 years of experience working as a computer or systems technician.
• Proficiency in Client Operating Systems and Apple iOS.
• Strong communication, time management, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a university setting.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree.
• ITIL version 3 or 4 certification.
• Help Desk Institute (HDI) certification.
• Valid driver’s license.
