IT Security Specialist

Responsibilities

• Manage and control secure configurations for over 200 information systems for a federal client using Security-Focused Configuration Management (SecCM) and NIST 800-128 guidance.
• Identify and record configurations that impact the security posture of the system and the organization.
• Analyze the security implications of changes to system configurations and document approved changes.
• Participate in the development of configuration management policies and planning.
• Conduct configuration management and IT security audits.
• Perform qualitative and quantitative research to support technical documentation, white papers, and reports.

Requirements

• Active and maintained Secret federal security clearance.
• Bachelor's degree.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience managing large security projects (cost, schedule, and performance).
• Proven experience in security policy development.
• Ability to obtain a DOD 8140 certification within 6 months of employment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Current DOD 8140 certification.
• Broad knowledge of cybersecurity threats and information system technologies.
• Experience with online research techniques.
