IT Security & Compliance Manager

About the Company

fab2 (formerly Atomic Semi) is an early-stage hardware startup founded by Sam Zeloof and Jim Keller. The team designs and builds the hardware, software, tools, and components needed to manufacture chips.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end change management for security and IT systems
• Develop foundational operational security policies and data loss prevention strategies
• Design and implement scalable processes for permissions management, identity access, and SaaS governance
• Lead compliance readiness and audit preparation for frameworks like EAR, ITAR, NIST 800-171, CMMC, and SOC 2
• Manage the full employee device and access lifecycle, providing IT support and troubleshooting
• Evaluate new software and workflows to remediate security and compliance gaps

Requirements

• 5-7+ years of experience in IT operations, security operations, systems governance, or GRC
• Experience building operational processes and documentation from scratch in fast-paced environments
• Familiarity with export control and government compliance (EAR, ITAR, NIST 800-171, CMMC, SOC 2, or FedRAMP)
• Practical understanding of IAM, permissions auditing, SaaS governance, and endpoint management
• Proficiency with IAM, MDM, or SaaS administration platforms
• Ability to operate independently in highly ambiguous environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience as an early or foundational security/IT hire at a startup
• Experience supporting regulated, government-adjacent, or defense technology environments
