IT Networking Systems Engineer

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical and strategic anchor for data center operations, managing high-speed NVIDIA/Mellanox fabrics and automated virtualization.
• Drive long-term strategic planning for data center space, power, and cooling infrastructure.
• Oversee the architecture and implementation of high-speed networking (200G/400G+) and core protocols including BGP, ECMP, and Spanning Tree.
• Administer VMware (ESXi) and Proxmox environments, including virtual switching and host management.
• Manage the full hardware lifecycle, including physical deployment, firmware updates, and troubleshooting of Dell servers.
• Maintain and expand infrastructure-as-code using Ansible and Terraform.
• Design and implement best-practice rack layouts and manage relationships with data center providers.
• Execute onsite and offsite backup strategies to ensure data integrity.

Requirements

• Extensive experience with high-speed networking (200G/400G+) and NVIDIA/Mellanox hardware.
• Proficiency with virtualization platforms including VMware (ESXi) and Proxmox.
• Advanced knowledge of L3 routing protocols such as BGP and ECMP.
• Strong Linux administration skills (Debian, CentOS, or RHEL-based).
• Mastery of automation tools including Ansible, Terraform, Python, and Bash.
• Experience managing Dell server hardware (iDRAC, RAID controllers).
• Ability to perform physical rack and stack activities, including occasional lifting of up to 50lbs.
• Willingness to work onsite in Riverton or Bluffdale, UT.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cloud computing architecture (AWS, GCP, Azure, or OCI).
• Experience with LXC containers and automated provisioning.
• Experience designing high-density rack layouts (35KW+/rack).
