About the role

Responsibilities

  • Drive long-term strategic planning for data center space, power, and cooling infrastructure.
  • Oversee the architecture and implementation of high-speed networking (200G/400G+) using NVIDIA and Mellanox hardware.
  • Administer VMware (ESXi) and Proxmox environments, including virtual switching and host management.
  • Maintain and expand infrastructure-as-code using Ansible and Terraform.
  • Manage the full hardware lifecycle, including deployment, firmware updates, and troubleshooting of Dell servers.
  • Design and implement best-practice rack layouts and monitor physical parameters like power and cooling.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for data center providers to ensure service levels are met.
  • Execute onsite and offsite backup strategies to ensure data integrity.

Requirements

  • Expertise in 200G/400G+ high-speed networking and high-performance interconnects.
  • Advanced knowledge of L3 routing protocols, specifically BGP and ECMP.
  • Proficiency in virtualization platforms including VMware (ESXi) and Proxmox.
  • Advanced Linux administration skills (Debian, CentOS, or RHEL-based).
  • Mastery of automation tools including Ansible and Terraform.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and Bash scripting for automation and monitoring.
  • Experience with Dell server hardware, including iDRAC and RAID management.
  • Ability to work onsite in Riverton or Bluffdale, UT, and lift up to 50lbs for rack/stack activities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cloud computing architecture (AWS, GCP, Azure, or OCI).
  • Experience with LXC containers and automated provisioning.
  • Experience designing rack layouts for high power density (35KW+/rack).
