About the role
Responsibilities
- Translate business strategy into a 12–18-month engineering roadmap with quarterly OKRs
- Define target architecture and integration patterns while balancing delivery speed with reliability
- Run Agile (Scrum/Kanban) with predictable sprints and strong backlog hygiene
- Establish and track DORA metrics including Deployment Frequency and MTTR
- Enforce coding standards, code reviews, and automated testing
- Build and evolve CI/CD pipelines and observability tools
- Hire, coach, and retain high-performing engineers through career ladders and growth plans
- Manage engineering budget, tools, cloud costs, and vendor SLAs
Requirements
- 10+ years in software engineering
- 4+ years leading cross-functional teams
- Proven delivery of web/mobile products using PHP/Laravel and iOS/Android
- Hands-on experience with Agile frameworks, CI/CD, and automated testing
- Strong grasp of modern frontend development and API design (REST/GraphQL)
- Experience establishing engineering KPIs and incident management
- Excellent stakeholder communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Domain experience in hospitality, travel, e-commerce, or payments
- Proficiency in Arabic and English
