IT Engineer II

Responsibilities

• Provide end user technical support and act as a point of contact for staff
• Triage IT events and requests within end user and lab environments
• Troubleshoot and escalate tickets while collaborating on resolutions
• Analyze and problem solve root causes of tactical support issues
• Suggest solutions for increased workflow efficiency and automation
• Manage assets, inventory, and hardware deployment for onboarding and offboarding
• Maintain technical process documentation

Requirements

• 4 years of collective IT experience with 2 years in Tier 1/Tier 2 support
• Experience with break/fix on various devices, platforms, and SaaS components
• Well-developed scripting knowledge
• Experience with ITSM ticketing services and change control
• Understanding of directory management and access provisioning
• Solid understanding of basic network connectivity and protocols
• Proficiency in Windows and Mac operating systems
• Experience with Entra, Active Directory, and log analysis
• Comfort leveraging LLMs and agentic tools

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree in technology or information security disciplines
• Certifications such as Microsoft 365, CompTIA A+, Security+, CCST, ACSP, or ITIL
• Experience supporting lab or scientific research environments
• Experience in highly regulated technical environments
