IT Engineer

About the Company

Etched is building hardware for frontier intelligence. We co-design chips, racks, software, and manufacturing to deliver best-in-class throughput and latency across both prefill and decode workloads. We are a fully in-person team in San Jose (Santana Row).

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on IT delivery and support for ASIC design, software, and scale-out computing teams
• Lead onboarding and offboarding processes and maintain IT asset documentation
• Manage on-site and remote laptops, desktops, and networking equipment
• Deploy and administer MDM and MAM solutions for Mac and Windows devices
• Implement and maintain antivirus, antimalware, EDR, and XDR solutions
• Drive hardware procurement, staging, imaging, and maintenance
• Implement and administer Single Sign-On (SSO) and automate user provisioning using Rippling, Okta, and Google Workspace
• Design, deploy, and maintain wired and wireless networks, VPN infrastructure, and firewalls
• Develop automation scripts using Python, Bash, or PowerShell
• Partner with engineering and security teams to align IT strategy with business goals

Requirements

• 5-7+ years in an IT support or engineering role
• Experience across macOS, Windows, and Linux
• Proficiency in endpoint management tools (e.g., Jamf, Intune, Kandji)
• Hands-on expertise in enterprise VPNs, wireless networking, and zero-trust access models
• Strong background in EDR/XDR platforms
• Scripting and automation proficiency in Python, Bash, or PowerShell
• Strong networking expertise including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and firewalls
• Experience in a fast-paced startup environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Okta experience
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Knowledge of security best practices and incident response
