IT Director of Public Safety

Responsibilities

• Create Public Safety IT roadmaps leveraging modern design principles and technologies
• Lead strategic planning to improve efficiency and effectiveness through IT programs
• Oversee Public Safety program execution and solution delivery
• Manage operating and capital budgets for the OIT Public Safety department
• Direct day-to-day operations and ensure high availability of IT infrastructure
• Manage Public Safety vendors and contract renewals
• Build and support a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion
• Mentor and coach employees under supervision

Requirements

• BA/BS degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 10+ years of applicable work experience
• 5+ years of IT management or IT program management experience
• Experience in large governmental or highly regulated environments
• Proven leadership in managing high-performing teams, vendors, and budgets
• Expertise in Public Safety technical domains such as 911, Police, Prisons, Fire, or OEM
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Experience in IT planning, strategy, and architecture
