IT Controls Data Engineer

Responsibilities

• Build reliable data pipelines, models, and datasets for IT controls including access, identity, and configuration data
• Create data quality, lineage, reconciliation, and completeness checks for SOX and audit use cases
• Design automated evidence generation workflows and control artifacts
• Develop control monitoring logic to detect drift, missing evidence, and stale access
• Partner with Security, IT, Infrastructure, and Engineering teams to validate data and improve automation
• Translate technical system behavior and data flows into clear explanations for auditors and stakeholders

Requirements

• Strong data engineering, analytics engineering, or software/data systems experience
• Hands-on SQL experience
• Proficiency in Python or another scripting/programming language
• Experience working with enterprise system data (identity platforms, HR systems, ticketing, cloud, or SaaS)
• Strong understanding of data modeling, lineage, and observability
• Experience supporting security, IT controls, SOX, audit readiness, or compliance environments
• Ability to explain technical logic to both engineering and audit stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Entra ID, Workday, GitHub, Databricks, or Salesforce
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
