IT Category Manager

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute detailed procurement strategies for IT sub-categories including cloud infrastructure, hardware, software, telecoms, and IT consulting.
• Manage the end-to-end sourcing process, including defining business requirements, market analysis, competitive tendering, and contract negotiation.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key technology vendors through regular performance reviews and QBRs.
• Partner closely with internal Technology teams and business stakeholders to ensure cohesive IT procurement and cost management.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, cost savings, and process optimization across the global IT spend footprint.
• Provide thought leadership and strategic insights regarding market developments and technological trends to senior stakeholders.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience managing a procurement category within a global firm, specifically focused on IT.
• Proven track record of delivering significant commercial value and cost savings through successful execution.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across diverse business teams.
• Excellent project management expertise with the ability to track and report on complex initiatives.
• Analytical approach to data management, reporting, and identifying procurement opportunities.
• Ability to work proactively and independently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working within a Financial Services organization.
• Professional certification such as MCIPS (Member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply).
• Understanding of cloud service provider cost modelling and optimization opportunities.
