About the role
Responsibilities
- Manage physical, virtual, and cloud-based server environments, including VMware environments
- Administer Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange, SharePoint, and Entra
- Provide technical support to City staff via email, phone, in-person, or remote sessions
- Maintain and patch Windows desktop infrastructure, including laptops, desktops, and tablets
- Administer backup systems using Veeam to ensure disaster recovery best practices
- Manage Microsoft Active Directory, including user accounts, group policies, and security settings
- Support Public Safety hardware and software, including mobile VPNs, CAD, and RMS systems
- Install, configure, and maintain Cisco phone systems and telecommunications infrastructure
- Research and recommend new technology solutions to improve departmental efficiency
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in MIS, Computer Science, or an equivalent combination of certifications and experience
- 5+ years of enterprise IT experience
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Server and Microsoft 365
- Proficiency with SQL, VMware, and Veeam
- Basic networking knowledge
- Valid Iowa driver's license
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Cisco networking and email security appliances
- Strong customer service orientation and communication skills
- Knowledge of Public Safety and law enforcement related systems
- Proficiency in documentation and cross-departmental collaboration
