IS Administration & Plan Manager

Responsibilities

• Supervise, train, and evaluate assigned technical staff, including performance management and professional development
• Oversee help desk operations, hardware, and networking for the Department of Pathology
• Coordinate IT operations and projects to support laboratory, departmental, and enterprise goals
• Recommend and implement IT solutions, equipment configurations, and process improvements to enhance laboratory operations
• Support the selection, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of laboratory analyzers, instruments, and related IT infrastructure
• Review vendor device specifications to ensure compatibility with enterprise security, networking, and operational requirements
• Lead major incident response and provide tertiary support for complex IT incidents
• Collaborate with leadership on budget planning, staffing projections, and resource prioritization
• Ensure compliance with institutional policies, device security, and regulatory requirements

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience
• 7 or more years of professional experience within a large hospital system
• Progressive experience supporting IT systems, laboratory systems, or healthcare technology operations
• Proven experience supervising, training, or leading technical or operational staff
• Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with technical teams, clinical staff, faculty, and vendors

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Pathology, laboratory medicine, or clinical informatics
• Familiarity with Lean principles or continuous improvement methodologies
• Experience with ServiceNow administration or similar ticketing/workflow platforms
• Experience supporting LIS/LIMS systems, middleware, or networked laboratory devices
• Knowledge of regulatory standards such as CAP, CLIA, HIPAA, or The Joint Commission
