IP Specialist

Responsibilities

• Review client dockets for upcoming deadlines and prepare necessary client correspondence
• Prepare and submit electronic trademark filings in the USPTO, including applications, office action responses, and renewals
• Manage international trademark filings through the World Intellectual Property Office (WIPO)
• Coordinate with foreign law firms regarding trademark and patent prosecution instructions and documentation
• Assist in trademark clearance searches using USPTO and Saegis databases
• Prepare electronic patent filings in the USPTO, including provisional/utility applications and information disclosure statements
• Prepare formal patent documents such as declarations, powers of attorney, and assignments
• Maintain and organize electronic patent and trademark files

Requirements

• 2-3 years of intellectual property experience in a law firm or corporate legal department
• Proficiency in preparing and electronically filing trademark and patent documents with the USPTO
• Experience monitoring patent and trademark dockets
• Experience using an IP practice management system
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and billing software

• Ability to handle multiple projects independently while meeting strict deadlines
• Strong attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills within a collaborative, client-oriented team
