About the role

Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering tasks related to the design, implementation, and integration of network changes and sustainment in a WAN environment
  • Conduct planning, analytical research, and design development to align with customer specifications
  • Control network systems to ensure 99% or better system uptime and connectivity
  • Mitigate risks, control costs, and manage large scale, integrated projects
  • Perform analytical tasks including hardware and software design and implementation

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Active, in-scope US Government Secret clearance
  • Current DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification (Security+ CE or equivalent)
  • Experience analyzing VLAN, routing, IP addressing, and sub-netting
  • Experience with Palo Alto firewalls, F5 appliances, and Splunk systems
  • Experience troubleshooting and configuring IP networks using BGP, ISIS, OSPF, or Static routing
  • Experience with Cisco (ESR and ASR) and/or Juniper routers
  • Experience with ports and protocols
  • Bachelor's degree and 2-4 years of relevant experience (or Master's with <2 years experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Juniper and Cisco configuration, troubleshooting, and design
  • Experience with Cisco IOS XR, JUNOS, and Cisco IOS codes
  • Perl or other language scripting for configuration backups and data retrieval
  • Experience with IPSEC, MPLS, and IPv6 configuration and design
  • Knowledge of DDoS and other network attack vectors
  • Crypto configuration, troubleshooting, and design experience
  • Layer 2/3 VPN and Firewall knowledge
  • Physical cable plant and wiring experience
  • Major vendor certifications (e.g., Cisco)
