IP Counsel

Responsibilities

• Manage patent prosecution and strategy, including reviewing Office Action (OA) responses from domestic and international firms
• Support patent filing strategies, PCT national phase entries, and portfolio pruning
• Manage the global IP portfolio (patents, designs, trademarks) and maintain accurate IP trackers/databases
• Oversee IP costs and budget management, including invoice verification and annual budget forecasting
• Act as a key communication link between R&D/engineering teams, external law firms, and the US General Counsel
• Support compliance and the establishment of internal IP policies and procedures

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Law, Intellectual Property, Engineering, Natural Science, or a related field
• 6+ years of relevant experience in a patent law firm, in-house IP/legal team, or IP consulting
• Valid Korean Patent Attorney license (Required)
• Understanding of patent prosecution and OA responses in the US, Korea, and Europe
• Ability to read and understand technical specifications and drawings related to robotics and software
• Fluency in English (written and verbal) for direct communication with US leadership and report writing

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a global company or a US-based headquarters environment
• Experience in establishing internal policies, compliance frameworks, or business processes
• Experience with PCT procedures and international patent examination (US, JP, EP, CN)
• Background combining technical understanding with legal analytical skills
