Investment Specialist

Responsibilities

• Provide financial and investment planning advice to deliver solutions in the best interests of customers
• Determine client needs and provide solutions through the sale of managed products and services, such as mutual funds and retirement savings plans
• Proactively engage with new and existing customers through needs-based assessments to grow loyalty
• Implement business development strategies, including outbound calling campaigns and cultivating branch referrals
• Identify opportunities to generate referrals for personal and commercial banking products
• Support the achievement of sales and performance targets while providing service support to the team
• Learn the role of Financial Planner and complete associated accreditation requirements, ideally within 12-24 months
• Maintain current knowledge of personal investment products, practices, and trends

Requirements

• 2-3 years of relevant experience in a related field
• Post-secondary degree in a related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Working towards the regulatory/governing body licensing and registration requirements of a Financial Planner
• Good working knowledge of the financial industry
• Strong verbal and written communication, organizational, and analytical skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment
