Investment Officer

Responsibilities

• Support the Southern Africa Transaction Advisory Services hub in business development and execution of PPP and corporate finance mandates.
• Contribute to origination and marketing activities, including the preparation of pitch books and identifying opportunities based on country strategies.
• Support the development of client relationships through project scoping, commercial presentations, and mandate negotiation.
• Lead the day-to-day management of project teams, including the review of technical outputs, documentation, and financial models.
• Develop transaction structure options and provide innovative solutions for government clients and investors.
• Manage the project tendering process, including prequalification, issuance of RFPs, and final negotiation of project agreements.
• Prepare and review memos and documentation for internal project approval and consultant procurement.

Requirements

• MBA or equivalent Post-Graduate degree in business, finance, or economics.
• 5-9 years of experience in project finance, corporate finance, M&A, privatizations, or private equity funds in infrastructure.
• Strong financial modeling skills and ability to independently develop complex models.
• Proven experience in infrastructure or Public-Private Partnerships (PPP).
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to travel frequently and on short notice.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in Portuguese.
• Demonstrated track record of contractual or financial closings of infrastructure transactions.
• Experience working within the African infrastructure market.
