About the role
Responsibilities
- Shoot and edit visually exciting content for investigative stories, live shots, and features across broadcast, digital, and streaming platforms
- Collaborate with journalists to develop a cohesive vision for news stories and long-form projects
- Pitch unique enterprise story ideas during daily content meetings
- Safely maintain and operate company newsgathering equipment, including mirrorless and gimbal cameras
- Adhere to the principles of ethical journalism and represent the station professionally in public
- Edit stories using Edius, DaVinci Resolve, and Adobe Premiere
Requirements
- 2-5 years of relevant experience in photojournalism and professional story editing
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
- Ability to lift camera gear up to 40 lbs. and occasionally up to 80 lbs.
- Flexibility to work mornings, nights, holidays, and weekends
Preferred Qualifications
- FAA Part 107 Pilot’s license with drone newsgathering experience
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere, After Effects, and Photoshop)
- Competency with mirrorless and gimbal camera systems
